Your heart has 3built in pacemakers. These are speacial cells that send out a small electric charge that spreads through the heart telling it to beat. The main one is the sinoatrial node, in the top right of your heart. The other 2 are lower in the heart and act as backups. If the heart doesn't get a signal from the sinoatrial node, the others can act in it's place, but your heart will be slower as they do not send a signal so often. I think this may be your problem.
