Was Harold Lewis a respected physicist, before his split from the conventional view of AGW?

As the globe cools so called “Global Warming” and “climate science” is really on its last legs most of the ones left associated with the crystal ball hocus pocus science is either a greedy politician looking for new tax streams, a crackpot environmentalist or a sales and marketing executive from the greedy Greentech industry!!
