If Jesus is God and God cannot tolerate sin, then how come Jesus can tolerate sin?

I often hear that God is perfect and having sin near him is unbearable to him. That's why we have to be absolved by Jesus's sacrifice before we can enter Heaven. But Jesus actually interacted with sinners and was close to sin during his earthly life. If he is God, then how can he do that?
