What's a good age to read the Looking Glass Wars?

My sis read it when she was 11 I believe. According to her, it isn't a very "challenging" read, but it was "awesome enough." I'm sure you can read it and understand it, especially since it IS designed for children ages 12-15 I believe. Idk, I personally never read it.
